I feel so bad about cancelling the other contest that I thought I'd just start doing giveaways, I'm not going to promise every week or even once a month but I will have a series of giveaways!
.
This yarn is one of the nicest, most lucious cotton yarns I've ever seen. I have more of it, a lot more, so I figured I'd share. I never made anything out of it because it was so nice I wanted whatever I made to be special. Anyway, it's 100% Mercerized Cotton from Greece. It says Tahki Imports on it. Each hank is 50 grams (74 yards) and it says it's machine washable. The colors are deeper and richer than the photo shows, must have been the lighting this morning.
.
Here's how to enter(1 entry for each comment):
.
1. Just make a comment, tell me if you craft for charity or not. (Will not in any way affect your chances for winning).
.
2. Blog about this contest. Please make a separate comment and link back to your post.
.
3. Blog about Deb's Contest Blog, again make a separate comment and post the link.
.
4. Follow either blog (or both, still counts as one entry) and post another comment. Current followers are eligible but you MUST leave a separate comment about it to qualify.
.
5. Join me on facebook and link to either blog and leave another comment. For this one you also need to leave me a message on facebook so I can find the post.
.
So there you have it, 5 ways to enter. Contest ends at midnight Oct. 9th Central Time and I will choose the winner with the tried and true, ask the grandson to pick a number method and announce the winner that weekend.
I haven't really been sewing that long.
ReplyDeleteCool... I have not crafted for charity... yet. I've only been crocheting 2 years in Nov. I've learned alot, but still have soooo much more to learn. I'm sure one day I will do some crocheting for charity, nice thing to do :)
ReplyDeleteI don't knit for charity, yet, but I plan on doing some de-stashing for charity later this year.
ReplyDeleteI follow your contest blog on my RSS feed, that gets me a second entry, right?
ReplyDeleteHi Deb. My name is Tami. I do not crochet for any charity, but I do crochet and donate it to individuals in need.(family and friends mostly) Just something to pick up their spirits. Hope you have a wonderful day. Hugs Tami
ReplyDeleteI do crochet for charity, but have been in burnout for a while. I'm hoping to start up again this fall!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb - I am glad that you are feeling better and are back to crafting.
ReplyDeleteI am crocheting for Warming Families,Outreach Program, Dream Center and several others. Been doing that for several years. The need gets bigger every year.
I am now a follower of your blog. This yarn looks lucious!
ReplyDeleteMy blog is www.tprosesblog.blogspot.com and I will be posting a link.
Oh, and I craft some for charity; need to do more!
Thanks!
Terri
I just posted about this on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI knit for charity. So far in 2009, I have knitted a sweater and a hat for the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. I have knitted a red scarf for the Red Scarf project for orphans. I also knitted 1 shawl and working on the 2nd one now for my church to keep in the pews.
ReplyDeleteI haven't crafted for charity for a long time I have quite a few projects going at the moment, way to many irons in the fire and I am getting ready to go back to work after being out of the job force for six years. As soon as Christmas is over this year sooner if I get my other projects done sooner than expected I have plans to make some hats to donate to the local schools for children that do not have hats to keep them warm, and then make some squares for veterns for comfortghans.
ReplyDeleteI don't often knit for charity - I'm a bit of a selfish knitter.
ReplyDeleteI'm following now! I have a giveaway going, too.
ReplyDeleteYES, I BELONG TO A LADIES GROUP THAT CROCHETS FOR CHARITY. WE GIVE TO ALL DIFFERENT CHARITIES.
ReplyDeleteI knit preemie hats and chemo caps. I have also knit one blanket for Project Linus. Thanks for the contest.
ReplyDeleteEvery winter I make a batch of scarves and hats for the homeless. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great contest - the Tahki cotton is perfect for market bags.
I belong to a group that makes afghans for a battered women's shelter here in Indianapolis. We all make strips that I crochet together and add a border around the afghan. They have been very well recieved--the women love them.
ReplyDeleteDeb, I love your contests. I would really love to win the cotton yarn one or the chocolate & yarn one. I have made chemo caps for charity. Thanks, Connie
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in your beautiful yarn giveaway - I have not yet made any charity items - but hope to soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks,

Beautiful yarn! I made hats and even a vest for Afghans for Afghans a few years ago... I need to start it up again!
ReplyDeleteDeb:
ReplyDeleteI saw your message on the Crochet Partners list. The only crocheting that I do craft is for charities. My big thing is making blankets for Project Linus, but I make big blankets (for the big kids). These are full-size afghans that are always made with the softest yarn I can find.
I also make hats and scarves for soldiers, and my yarn ends go into squares for the 6x9 project that also sends afghans to soldiers.
I do craft for charity I crochet baby hats for an organization called Miracles Happen
ReplyDeleteThanks

Beautiful colors! I often crochet & knit caps for the children here that are in the custody of DFACS (Department of Families and Children Services). I also crochet tiny caps for preemies & donate to the local hospital. I think donating warms your heart and the items donated warm someone that needs them. this also keeps "Mr. Arthor-itis" at bay. ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to pass on items for others to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYes, I knit and crochet for my charity, CARE Package, Inc. (www.carepackageinc.com) thanks, I'd love to win that beautiful yarn! :)
ReplyDeletei follow you!
ReplyDeletegorgeous colors! so fall festive!
ReplyDeleteyes i do knit for charity, project linus, red scarf, hats for the homeless.... as well as knitting coats for my neighbors needy chickens.
I have done a couple of squares for charity but not as much as I probably should.
ReplyDeleteI have done a couple of squares for charity but probably should do more.
ReplyDeleteI haven't crafted for charity yet as I'm still a crochet beginner. It is definitely a goal of mine, though, especially as my kids grow up- I've got a 3 yo and a 2 week-old!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous yarn! I am just getting back to knitting/crochet myself, so have not done any of that work for charity lately.

ReplyDeleteI love making things for others, and charities are the best way to do it. I have made knitted breasts for breast cancer survivors, and I am currently making some afghan squares for Pine Ridge.
ReplyDeleteI am following this blog now too.
ReplyDeleteDeb, I have subscribed to this blog and your contest blog via RSS! I've even followed a few contests already and signed up for the drawings.
ReplyDeleteI haven't knit anything for charity yet, but I only have about 6 FOs so far. :)

ReplyDeleteI don't knit for charity at the moment, but I would love to get involved in knitting hats for premies for the local hospital.
ReplyDeleteHello again, I just wanted to add that I now follow you. :D
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, Mostly I knit things for the family or I'm working on a purse design. But I have knit hats for charity. I save them up and bring them to the Stitch n Pitch ball game and a huge collection gets donated to big brothers/big sisters. I'll start working on this year's items after the holidays. Good luck to everyone who entered!
ReplyDeleteI havent crocheted for charity but I have given away almost all I have made..but I want to start making scarves, hats and gloves for our areas homeless. Happy crocheting!
ReplyDeleteHeather Riggin
I have been crocheting since I was 8 years old. I am now a 54 year old grandmother of 11. I love creating things for charities. When I was 10 I handmade Christmas stockings and filled them with goodies, like small size fancy toiletries, candy, sample size colognes, etc. I dontated them to the local senior home. I now do premie clothing and blankets for birthright and others. I also am working on Special Olympic scarfs for their winter olympics this coming January.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done any crafting for charity yet, although I donate quite a bit of time to various organizations. I guess if I volunteered less, I could crochet more.

Hi Deb,
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering this beautiful yarn and this contest on your blog! I often knit and crochet for charity - Project Linus is one of my faves and also I make mini-blankets for our local animal shelter for the dogs and cats to cuddle at night.
I am the one who helps run the knitting ministry at my church parish.
ReplyDeleteHi, Deb! Love your blog, but haven't commented before.
ReplyDeleteI knit booties and hats for preemies in my area, and am starting my first blanket for Project Linus.
Have a great day!
